Sarah Cronick

November 8, 2022 by Ryan

Born and raised in the wilds of Alaska, Sarah is a free spirit who is thrilled to have returned to Present Moment and Troncones after a decade away.

Sarah leads with passion a life rich in learning, experience, depth, and beauty. She lives in service to the next seven generations, asks, “What these times are asking of us?” daily, and attempts to proceed accordingly. She treasures threshold spaces where humans can connect deeply with themselves, the land, and whatever may arise.

Her decades of healing work have been fostered through a multitude of lineages and traditions including Ashtanga, Maya, Forrest, Restorative and Yoga Nidra. Sarah adores practicing Thai massage, Reiki, Access Bar Consciousness, and deep tissue massage.

In the ten years Sarah was away, she received her Masters in Education and holds her Waldorf certificate with an emphasis in artistic healing education and healthy child development. She is also certified Death Doula and has been honored to sit with many dear ones and their loved ones as they transition.

She has sat in a ten-day vision quest in the desert’s of Utah with Animas Valley Institute and holds council regularly with diverse groups of people. She is currently studying Tarot and would be happy to give you a reading! When she’s not at Present Moment, you’ll find Sarah either eating tacos or strolling the beach with her precious pup, Nala.

Elena Zubulake

January 13, 2023 by Ryan

Wellness Therapist

Elena has been involved with Movement, Body wisdom, and the Healing Arts for 27 years.

Her mom put her in gymnastics when she was two because she was ‘Wild’. She still identifies deeply with her wildness as a kind of authenticity and listening into the deep rhythms of life that grounds her work as a healer, artist, and human.  She finds herself at home in the woods, in places still inhabited by a more feral and unadulterated wisdom and rhythm. Her bodywork is born of this fluid language, healing as a bridge between form and formlessness, said and unsaid, human and nonhuman. Healing is at the core, an art of listening, and bodywork languages us back to the core of our experience which is the nonverbal.

Elena’s training is in integrative massage, polarity, contact improvisation, authentic movement, somatic psychology, matrix leadership, non-violent communication, grief work, body-based sexuality education, physical theatre, herbalism, yoga, reflexology, childbirth support, and abdominal therapies.

She studied at Naropa University and Healing Spirits Massage School, as well as numerous other training grounds and the ever unfolding school of her life. She also practices weaving, writes poetry, and farms. She loves any practice that slows her out of the culture of rushing into an ever more savored and beautiful life. She enjoys nurturing others into these slower rhythms where they can awaken more deeply to their underground waters just waiting to bubble up to feed this modern life. In this way, she also sees the healing arts and her service as a kind of activism towards simple touch-based connection, slowing down, soulful presence, and body-sourced wisdom. She is passionate about healing at the community level, shifting power structures from the inside, finding personal power and choice, living in right relationship with all beings, and a sense of play and curiosity in all things.

Elena loves to travel, dance contact improv, grow food, hike, cook, host gatherings and go to hot springs.

Services provided by Elena:
Private Yoga Classes 60/90/120min, Vinyasa Flow Yoga 90min, Gentle Yoga 90min, Meditation Classes, Wellness Consultation, Integrative Massage 60/75/90min (Reflexology, Trigger Point, Abdominal Work) – Deep Tissue Massage 60/90/120min – Relaxation Massage 60/90/120min, Intuitive Guidance Coaching 60min (Focus on a Question/or Life Issue, consulting with guidance to support deepening wisdom/illumination, somatic inquiry, trauma aware )

María Fernanda

June 22, 2019 by Ryan

Maria is originally from Guadalajara, Mexico. She has a passion for travel and has combined this with her love of yoga practicing wherever the wind takes her – Baja, Tulum, Guadalajara and now Troncones.

As a yoga practitioner since 2007, her first Mexican Guru, Lourdes Basich, helped to shape her yoga style. Maria then went on to complete her first teacher training with Briguitte Longueville, as the first ambassador of Restorative Yoga in Mexico in 2013. Following this extensive practice, Maria then began teaching in 2016.

Maria has also been interested in other branches of yoga study including Shadow Yoga with Matt Pesendian and Scott Blossom in 2015, Acoroyoga  training also in 2015 and Solar and Lunar Immersion in Medellin, Colombia in 2016.

Her teachings are a mix of the different learning styles from her main teachers: Traditional Linages, Critical Alignment and energetic yoga practice. Maria’s restorative yoga classes are focused on MioFascial work and use of innovative yoga props such as BackMitra to release stiffness taking you to a deeper connection and understanding of the body, mind and spirit communication.

Maria has fallen in love with the perfect waves and the magic energy of our small Mexican paradise Troncones that she can now call “Home”.

Adriana Gonzalez Villa

July 21, 2024 by Ryan

Meet Adriana González Villa, a revered medicine woman and ordained interfaith minister whose life’s work is deeply rooted in the traditional healing medicines of Mexico. As an acupuncturist, musician, and yogini, Adriana brings a holistic approach to wellness, offering sound meditation, healing sessions, and facilitating transformative medicine ceremonies.

Adriana’s inclusive ministry is anchored in indigenous wisdom traditions, reflecting her dedication to honoring and preserving ancestral knowledge. Raised as a first-generation Chicana in the United States, Adriana holds dual citizenship with Mexico and the USA. Her journey of healing and reconnection began in her early years, growing up in a multicultural community in Houston, Texas. Despite facing rampant personal and institutionalized racism, she emerged with a profound commitment to social justice and cultural understanding.

At The University of Texas at Austin, Adriana pursued degrees in Cultural Anthropology and Ethnic Studies, working tirelessly with marginalized populations, including undocumented citizens, homeless communities, and incarcerated youth with disabilities. However, her path took a transformative turn through a profound spiritual initiation, leading her away from social justice law and toward the healing arts.

In 2013, Adriana repatriated to Mexico, where she founded a healing arts center on the southern Pacific coast. Her work at Present Moment Retreat, where she has been a beloved collaborator since 2014, focuses on guiding individuals through their healing journeys and fostering a deep connection to the land and ancestral ways.

Adriana is not only a dedicated healer but also a loving mother and wife, living in Troncones, Guerrero, with her family. Her personal experiences as a bi-cultural woman of color inform her empathetic approach to healing, making her an invaluable resource for those seeking holistic wellness and spiritual growth.

Rev. Adriana Maria González Villa continues to inspire and transform lives through her compassionate practice, inviting all to reconnect with their heritage and the sacred wisdom of their ancestors.

Services provided by Adriana:
Vinyasa Flow Yoga 90min, Restorative Yoga 90min, Private Yoga Classes 60/90/120min, Yoga in Spanish 60min, Cacao Ceremony, Healing Sound Circle
