Alfredo was born in the coffee-producing town of Atoyac. At the tender young age of 6 he practiced in his uncle’s workshop learning skills of carpentry and mechanics. As a proud parent, he enjoys his days off with his family, playing basketball with friends, and collecting tools.
Meet Don Patricio, the guardian of our grounds and the mastermind behind our lush landscapes. Originally from the picturesque mountain town of Chilpancingo, Patricio brings over 35 years of expertise and a deep-rooted passion for nurturing plants and gardens to his role at PMR.
With an innate love for nature and a patient touch, Patricio tends to every corner of our retreat with meticulous care, ensuring that our surroundings are not just beautiful but thriving ecosystems teeming with life. His green thumb and dedication to his craft have transformed our grounds into a verdant oasis that rejuvenates the soul.
Off-duty, Patricio finds immense joy in spending time with his family, particularly his three beloved grandchildren. Whether it’s playing games, exploring nature, or simply sharing stories, these precious moments with his grandchildren are the highlight of his days, filling his heart with warmth and love.
With his unwavering commitment to the well-being of our natural environment and his deep appreciation for family bonds, Don Patricio embodies the spirit of harmony and connection that defines life at PMR.
Meet Esteban Cruz, the green thumb and guardian of our outdoor sanctuary, serving as our dedicated gardener, groundskeeper and landscaper. Born in Guerrero, Esteban brings a unique blend of seriousness and kindness to his role, rooted in strong family values that prioritize responsibility and integrity in all aspects of life.
A man of temperance, Esteban approaches his work with a sense of focus and dedication, ensuring that every corner of our grounds reflects the beauty of nature and the care of a skilled steward.
Off-duty, Esteban finds joy and solace in the company of his beloved dog, Chispita, whom he adores with all his heart. He also delights in the art of cooking, finding pleasure in creating delicious meals to share with loved ones.
In his free time, Esteban indulges in his love for reading, particularly about topics such as politics and religion, expanding his knowledge and understanding of the world around him. Above all, he cherishes the opportunity to spoil his wife, Jazmin, with love and affection, creating cherished moments together.

Meet Juan Rosales, affectionately known as our beloved carpenter and member of the maintenance crew here at Present Moment Retreat.
Juan is a dedicated collaborator whose role involves maintaining our gardens, restoring wooden furniture, handling electrical details and various other tasks around the retreat. With each task he undertakes, Juan approaches his work with boundless enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence, continuously striving to improve and enhance his skills with each passing day.
In his free time, Juan finds joy and fulfillment in practicing exercise for self-defense and martial arts. He believes that physical exercise not only strengthens the body but also nourishes the spirit, providing a holistic approach to wellness. Additionally, Juan has a passion for music and enjoys playing the guitar. While he may not consider himself a proficient singer, he believes that the act of making music is what truly matters. And, as a lover of good food, Juan also delights in the occasional opportunity to indulge in cooking.
With his dedication to his work, his commitment to personal growth, and his passion for music and martial arts, Juan Rosales adds a special touch of craftsmanship and camaraderie to the Present Moment family.
Head of Housekeeping
Yesi has been skillfully maintaining the beautiful, ocean-view accommodations at Present Moment since 2017, making certain that our guest’s comfort is put first at all times. Her greatest joy is definitely her 3, beautiful children and is fiercely dedicated to her home and family. Occasionally Yesi will babysit our guest’s little ones.
Kitchen
Mayrani is a wonderful new addition to the Present Moment team, bringing her love for preparing and cooking Latin cuisine. She prefers to live her life one day at a time and surrounding herself with positive, caring people. Mayrani loves spending time with her family and her adorable kittens.
